Driving Test Requirements
To get a driver’s licence in Australia, you must go through several stages, including obtaining a Learner Licence (L plates), progressing to a Provisional Licence (P plates) and finally getting a Full (Unrestricted) Licence.
Meeting these key requirements is essential for successfully passing your driving test:
- Be at least 17 years old to take the Practical Driving Assessment (PDA)
- Complete 120 hours of supervised driving (including 20 hours at night)
- Pass the Hazard Perception Test (before booking your PDA)
- Pass an eyesight test
Note: If you are 25 or older, you can skip the 120-hour logbook requirement and proceed directly to the Drive Test when you are ready.
